If you’re a sewing machine geek like I am, this is the kind of stuff that revs your engine! Have you ever seen one so lovely? Do click to watch the video.
This was a chain stitch machine, which means that it uses only one thread and there is no bobbin. The thread is looped through itself over and over, much like in crochet.
It’s quite amazing to see how far we’ve come. The features of the HQ Stitch 710 are myriad.
In my life there is room for the very old and the very new, too. I have a small collection of toy sewing machines, like this one.

I have several Singer Featherweight machines and numerous other vintage machines, too.
Oh my goodness! That little pink machine!~ I’ve never seen one like it, and I have a few myself:) My current favorite vintage machine that I am sewing on today is a black long-bed Singer 301! I do love the modern conveniences, but the stitch quality of just a straight stitch on these vintage machines can’t be beat!
I don’t have a collection of machines…just a few older ones replaced by the HQ 710 which I love! Great collection.
