There are many great resources for quilters offered online at no charge, and who doesn’t like a deal like that?! On most Fridays, I will share a freebie with you that I like. Could be a pattern or a tutorial, a quilting motif or something entirely unexpected. Sound good?

I tend to think in red, white and blue during the summer months. So it was that last year I discovered Star Spangled Pineapples, which I started on July 4, 2019, and finished on July 5, 2020. It’s not that it took me a year to make it! I put it away when the red, white and blue mood left me, and pulled it back out when the timing was right.

The pattern is easy to follow and the techniques are easy to execute. They include half-square triangles and stitch-and-flip, sometimes called by other names like easy corner triangles.

The quilt was designed by Amanda at jedicraftgirl.com and Amber at gigisthimble.com.

Quilt on,

I pieced my Star Spangled Pineapples on the HQ Stitch 510, a high-speed straight stitch machine from Handi Quilter.

I will quilt it on the HQ Capri, a stationary longarm with 18″ of throat space and stitch regulation via the InSight table.
